Missions Education

Greenwood First Baptist is a missional congregation. In addition to supporting numerous mission related organizations (click here to see list), GFBC offers a variety of missions education opportunities for children and adults. 

Children’s Missions Education

The missions education program for children follows choir and supper on Wednesday night. Children are invited to participate in one of three different programs beginning at 6:30 pm. The following is a list of mission education opportunities for children. For additional information about missions education in children's ministry, please contact Claudia Burch, Director of Children’s Ministry.  (Click here for a location map for children's missions education activities.)

Youth Missions Education

Missions education is important for our youth as well. Blake Kendrick, Associate Pastor for Students and Spiritual Formation, incorporates missions education into every aspect of the student ministry program. The youth group participates in annual mission trips and partners with a local soup kitchen on a regular basis.  Click here to see what is happening in the youth ministry! For additional information about missions education in student ministry, please contact Blake Kendrick. 

Adult Missions Education

Adult missions education functions primarily within the Women's Ministry.  A Women's Ministry Council coordinates mission projects among the women's circles, and each circle conducts individual mission projects.  The following is a list of women's mission circles and their contact representatives.

(Meets first Monday of the month at 6:30 pm.)

(The Alma Johnson Circle meets the second Monday in September.)

(The Frances Strawhorn Circle meets the second Monday in September.)

(The Louise Bowers Circle does not meet in September.)
