CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Sunday Morning Bible Study

Sunday mornings begin at 10:00 am. Babies are rocked and loved in our nursery. Toddlers are taught from “Toddlers and Twos” using stories, songs, and activities. The children's curriculum “Rock Solid” helps our age 3 through 5th grade build a foundation of faith through Bible stories, games, songs, and activities.

children's_church Worship

Childcare (Extended Session)  is provided for newborns through age 4. A time for children is a part of our worship services on most Sundays, after which K5 and younger are invited to leave for Children’s Church in room 120. Our 3rd-6th graders may participate in worship as acolytes*.

*Acolytes are “helpers,” who assist in the worship service each Sunday by lighting the altar candles.  Lighting the candles represents God’s presence among us. This is a very meaningful part of the worship service. Any 3rd-6th grader can be an acolyte after attending a training session. For additional information, please contact Claudia Burch.

Children’s Theme Night

Children enjoy a time of games, story lessons, snack supper, fun, and fellowship that are all based around the theme for the night. Theme nights are scheduled on the last Sunday of the month from August through April.

2012 VBS Logo          Vacation Bible School

Ages 3 through 5th grade are invited to GFBC's annual VBS on June 18-22, 2012, from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon. We will travel back to ancient Babylon to see how Daniel and his frends had the courage to stand firm and believe in the one true God.  We will experience God's presence with us always and explore how we too can faithfully follow God - no matter what!

Holidays and Special Events

Fellowship, fun, and friendships are developed during our special events including our annual Easter egg hunt, Fall Festival, and Christmas family ornament party. Skating, bowling, and other fun activities encourage growth as a church family.
